Does this property have an Application fee?

No. There are no application fees.

Is an advanced rental payment required?

Yes. To secure an apartment, the Tenant must pay the first month’s rent and the bond (equivalent to one month rent).

Is there a cancellation fee once I have secured an apartment?

Yes there are early termination fees and cancellations are considered the same as breaking a lease.

Do I need to pay a departure clean fee?

We can arrange for the professional cleaning of your Apartment. The cost to clean a room is $300 (Semester 1 2025) for a studio apartment.

If I wanted to break my lease, what are the costs associated with this?

Per Lease Agreement. The cost includes an administrative fee, 1 week of rent plus GST, advertising fees, and a departure cleaning fee (if organised through UniLodge and not already paid). You will also be responsible for rental payments until the apartment is leased again (up to a maximum of one month).

What electricity cost am I responsible for?

Each resident pays for their energy as it is separately metered and will hold their own account with an energy company. EnergyOn is the provider at the property and their details can be accessed at https://energyon.snapforms.com.au/form/082-riversdale

How much is the Internet / WIFI? Who is the provider and how much bandwidth do I have?

Unlimited Internet/WiFi is provided by Superloop and is included in your rental package.

Do I need to organise my own Contents Insurance?

Are there any car park spaces or bicycle bays available?

Yes car parks are available for a fee of $99 per month, with a Bond payment of $99. Bike spaces are free.

Where can I find resources to manage my health and wellbeing?

We have listed a number of resources on our Student Health and Wellbeing page.

What do I do if I, or my family need somewhere to stay prior to checking in?

If you or your family need somewhere to stay for a couple of nights to a week, or rest your head after coming in from a late-night flight then why not book at Essence Hotel Carlton. Offering comfortable rooms that give you the freedom to relax in a place away from home.

What are your check-in times and days?

Monday to Friday 11 AM and 3 PM (excluding public holidays). Further information regarding available check-in dates and times will be provided in the confirmation of accommodation email.

Do you offer after hours check-in?

Check-ins are Monday to Friday only – we are unable to do check-ins after hours, on weekends or Public Holidays due to Victorian legislation requirements. We recommend that you prearrange a hotel or alternative accommodation until you are able to check in during check-in hours.

Where do I check-in?

Check-in is at 367 Burwood Road, Hawthorn.
