No. There are no application fees.

Is an advanced rental payment required?

Yes. To secure an apartment, the Tenant must pay the first month’s rental Package and any chosen options

Is there a cancellation fee once I have secured an apartment?

Yes there are early termination fees and cancellations are considered the same as breaking a lease.

Do I need to pay a departure clean fee?

We can arrange for the professional cleaning of your Apartment. The cost to clean a room in Semester 1, 2025 is as follows: $360 for a 1 bedroom apartment $470 for a 2 bedroom apartment $550 for a 3 bedroom apartment Pricing is based on prepayment of cleaning prior to arrival.

If I wanted to break my lease, what are the costs associated with this?

Per Lease Agreement. The cost will be 2 weeks rent plus GST, $165 Advertising fee and Rent paid until the apartment is leased again.

What electricity cost am I responsible for?

Each resident pays for their energy as it is separately metered and will hold their own account with an energy company. UniLodge recommends Sumo as an electricity provider.

Is there Internet / WiFi provided?

Internet and internet connection is not included in your rent.

Do I need to organise my own Contents Insurance?

Why is the rent not 4 times the weekly rent amount?

Rental in Victoria is per calendar month. As there are not always 4 full weeks in a month, the weekly rate is multiplied by 52 weeks (as there are 52 weeks in a year) and then divided by 12 months to get the monthly rate.

What do I do if I, or my family need somewhere to stay prior to checking in?

If you or your family need somewhere to stay for a couple of nights to a week, or rest your head after coming in from a late-night flight then why not book at Essence Hotel Carlton. Offering comfortable rooms that give you the freedom to relax in a place away from home.

What is the process for arranging an after hours check-in?

Please email on 570swanston@unilodge.com.au at least 2 working days in advance to set up after hours appointment. Both initial deposit and bond payment need to be paid before after hours key pickup.
