What do I need to do to reserve a room?

Contact ANU Accommodation Services (UAS) on either 02 6125 1191
 

How much money do I have to pay upfront before I move in?

You will need to pay the room security deposit which varies between room types. The security deposit varies depending on room type: studio $950, studio double/1 bedrooms $1400 and multi-share apartment $800. There is also an additional administration fee of $300 as well as a Residential Life fee of $180.

What does my rent include?

Your total rent includes occupancy fee of your room type, utilities and data per week.

What does my rent exclude?

Your rent does not include:

  • Car parking
  • Phone usage
  • Sundry charges and consumables

What items will I need to buy before I move in that are not in the apartment or not available at UniLodge to buy?

You will need to bring with you:

  • Cutlery
  • Cookery
  • Sauce pans and other cooking utensils
  • Cleaning products
  • Linen (including pillows and doona)

Most of the items listed above can be purchased from Your Shop.

Can you explain how the telephone works in my apartment, in terms of setting up and ongoing accounts?

Your external number will be provided upon check-in. If you are living in a multi-share room, the caller will be prompted to press the room number. Dial ‘0’ to call external numbers.

Can you please explain how the internet account works?

Unlimited use (included in Utility Fee)

How close is the nearest supermarket?

There is an IGA Supermarket underneath the West City Park. Which is opposite UniLodge @ ANU on Marcus Clarke Street, approximately two minutes walking distance.

Do you have parking?

Yes, spots are limited and fees apply.

Is there extra storage outside my apartment?

Due to lack of storage, there are no extra storage spaces at UniLodge.

Do you have any deals for students with any retail shops, restaurants or gyms?

Yes! Several of the retail outlets in the area provide discounts for local residents and students. Free gym access at ANU for UniLodge residents.

Can I make a special request for certain flatmates to share with?

When you make a reservation with UAS, please note the persons name you would like to share with. UniLodge will try to fill your request however this can’t be guaranteed.

After I move in who is the best person to ask if I have any questions?

You can contact reception during:

  • 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday;
  • 8am – 4pm Saturday & Sunday - Alternating weekends (Open Saturday one week and then open Sunday the following);
  • email reception.warrumbul@unilodge.com.au; or
  • call the Community Support Officer on 02 6125 7500. 

You can also talk to our onsite Senior Residents, one on each floor to help with any issues, eg noise complaints.

How does my mail get to me?

Warrumbul Lodge residents, you will need to direct your mail to:

Your mail arrives during the week and is placed in your pigeon hole at Reception awaiting your collection.

If I really want to move rooms after I move in – is that possible?

Yes, you will need to notify Reception of your request. Pending on what time of the year, you might need to be placed on a waiting list and be contacted if a room becomes available.

What contracts are available?

There is one main contract available for residents:

  • 48 week, ending 9 January 2026

What ways can I pay for my rental charges?

Rental payments are made fortnightly via:

  • Direct Debit through a debit/savings account,
  • a Credit Account (Amex and Diners not accepted, all Credit transactions attract a 2% surcharge),
  • Alipay, or
  • WeChat Pay.

What ways can I pay for other charges?

Payments can be made via EFTPOS, Direct Transfer and Credit (Amex and Diners not accepted, all Credit transactions attract a 1.302% surcharge).

Do you have campus maps?

Yes we have campus maps available for you at Reception.

What do I have to do when I have a visitor?

You are required to advise Reception in advance of any visitors who are staying over night. This is for safety reasons and we permit a maximum of four nights per visit. Each visitor staying over is required to fill out one of our Visitor Forms located at Reception.

Will wireless internet connection be available?

Yes, wireless internet access will be available in all study areas throughout the building.

Where can I find resources to manage my health and wellbeing?

UniLodge has listed a number of resources on our Student Health and Wellbeing page.

What are your check-in times and days?

Monday to Friday 10am - 6pm and Saturday to Sunday 10am - 6pm

Do you offer after hours check-in?

Yes, please contact our Senior Resident via the reception number. Please give us 48 hours notice so we can arrange after hours check-in.
