Does this property have an Application fee?

No. There are no application fees.

Is an advanced rental payment required?

Yes. To secure an apartment, the Tenant must pay two week’s advanced rent and a Security Deposit / Bond of 4 weeks rent.

Is there a cancellation fee once I have secured an apartment?

Yes there is a cancellation fee of 2 weeks rent.

Are car parking spaces available?

Yes. Car parking spaces require a separate application on 6-monthly terms and are not guaranteed. Cost is subject to change annually.

Do I need to pay a departure clean fee?

The cleaning costs of a studio apartment is $299 and $350 for loft and courtyard apartments.

If I wanted to break my lease, what are the costs associated with this?

There will be re-letting cost which is the lessor of gap out rent amount or 1 to 4 weeks rent depending on the expired tenancy plus GST and other costs until the apartment is leased again.

What electricity cost am I responsible for?

Electricity costs are included in the rent and payable by the landlord. The cost is capped at $150 per quarter and the tenant must pay any costs over this limit.

How much is the Internet / WIFI? Who is the provider?

Internet access and unlimited WIFI is provided by Superloop and is included in your rent.

Do I need a mattress protector?

Yes, these are charged at $15.00 per double bed and is covered in your departure clean fee.

Do I need to organise my own Contents Insurance?

Yes as this is not included in your rental payments

What do I do if I, or my family need somewhere to stay prior to checking into UniLodge?

If you or your family need somewhere to stay for a couple of nights to a week, or rest your head after coming in from a late-night flight then why not book at Essence Suites Taringa. Offering fully furnished suites that give you the freedom to relax in a place away from home.

Where can I find resources to manage my health and wellbeing?

UniLodge has listed a number of resources on our Student Health and Wellbeing page.

What are your check-in times and days?

Monday to Friday 11am to 4pm.

Do you offer after hours check-in?

Yes by appointment only. 

What is the process for arranging an after hours check-in?

Ensure you have notified us during business hours of your after-hour arrival details so we can prepare for your arrival.  Once arrived, please call the Duty Manager on 0419 370 580.

Do I need to be classified as a student for the entirety of my contract with UniLodge?

Yes. To be a resident at UniLodge you need to have a valid CoE (Confirmation of Enrolment) from the date you apply throughout the entire stay as per the dates on your contract agreement. Please contact reception if you have any questions.
