What's Your favourite Room/Facility in the Property?
My favourite space in our building would be our Level 2 Common Area. I always see our residents using this space to cook, watch movies or television on the projector screen, study in the seating area or lounge on the day beds. I have lost count how many times I have entered this space and students are always up for a chat and offering us the food they have just cooked or baked.
What’s the name of your favourite local food/shop?
My favourite one-stop-shop for food is at a restaurant called Farm Vigano.
What does Residential Life mean to you?
Residential Life is essential in offering a supportive community to our residents. It provides residents with the opportunity to participate in activities and events that may not be offered on campus, meet new residents from all walks of life, and build rapport with staff members.
What has been your favourite Residential Life Event?
My favourite Residential Life Event is our Petting Zoo that our Residential Life Team incorporate into our SWOTVAC events to ease the pressure off our residents who have studying for exams. Although, I love when our Residential Life Team organise spur-of-the-moment lunch and snacks events for our residents in our reception foyer and they all suddenly appear out of nowhere.
If you could give new residents one tip before they arrive. What would it be?
I would let them know that they should not afraid to ask questions if they are not sure of something. There is always someone around to support them whether that is a staff member, a Residential Advisor or another resident.
What’s the last compliment your team received?
The last compliment we received was from one of our residents passing on a massive thank you for everything that we have done to support him during COVID-19.
What do you love most about being a property manager?
I love being about to make a difference in our residents’ lives.
