Favourite Room/Facility in the Property
I love Curtin Stadium and what it has to offer! Firstly, the state-of-the-art gym with more equipment than I have ever seen… and it’s free to our residents! They also offer amazing exercise classes and the staff can help create PT plans etc. The best thing, though, is the social sports! Beach volleyball, netball, basketball, floorball. It’s a great way to play some sport, keep fit, and get social!
What’s the name of your favourite local food/shop?
I love Varsity Bar! Their boneless wings are seriously addictive. It’s a great place to watch live sport, has seriously amazing food, and they host cool events like Trivia Nights!
What does Residential Life mean to you?
To me, Residential Life means family. Every resident at UniLodge at Curtin is studying away from their homes, and if we can create a sense of family here then I feel like we are really succeeding! Families are a close support network, who live together as a unit, and this bond is formed through the hard work and care of our staff. Our Community Spirit Program and associated events are a great opportunity for residents to share a meal or other experiences and find themselves a family away from home!
What has been your favourite Residential Life Event?
I really enjoyed our Inaugural Residents Ball in 2019! There was delicious food, a pumping dancefloor, and everyone who attended had a great time. We have big plans for the 2020 edition (Great Gatsby, anyone?) which unfortunately was put on hold. But the good news is that we have pencilled it in for September!
If you could give new residents one tip before they arrive. What would it be?
My one tip would be to completely embrace the events that are on offer. Instead of just grabbing a serve of food, hang around and chat to your fellow residents! I know that it is really hard to put yourself out there when you don’t know anyone, but everyone here is kind and caring, and you’ll quickly make friends. Especially with our amazing Residential Advisors!
What’s the last compliment your team received?
We received some really good feedback from our residents when we kept our events (particularly the free food!) running despite practicing social distancing. And that was all thanks to the hard work and love of our Residential Advisors!
What do you love most about being a property manager?
I love watching our residents and their leaders invest in the community and develop a sense of empowerment. It feels so good to watch resident ideas for events and initiatives come to life, as they are generally very passionate and community driven.
Why should the person reading this pick your property as their new home?
You should choose UniLodge at Curtin because of the sense of community that comes with it. You’re not just another name or number, and our staff genuinely care. The Residential Advisors in particular love their communities and would do anything for their residents!
Do you want to be part of our community and join in the fun at our local events. Then contact us today and chat to our friendly staff about arranging a tour.
