Hidden Gems in Carlton: Musalla (Prayer Space)

Who would have thought that there is a Musalla (prayer space) for Muslims to have their Friday prayers within walking distance from UniLodge Carlton?! This space holds two Jum’ah sessions during the Semesters 1 & 2 and one Jum’ah session during University Holidays, Semester Breaks and Public Holidays. Only University of Melbourne staff and students have access to the area. Visitors are also welcome, but must be accompanied with a University of Melbourne ID holder.

Mussala Prayer Room can be accessed via Little Pelham St, Carlton, with separate entrances for males and females. 

Prayer times for Friday Jum’ah as below:

1st Prayer: 1.30pm
2nd Prayer: 2.30pm

Standard Time (beginning April 1st)
1st Prayer: 12.30pm
2nd Prayer: 1.30pm
