AUGUST - 2010

CSP Events - IMax experience

Last Saturday a group of UniLodge residents went to watch Toy Story 3 in 3D at IMAX Darling Harbour. It was a nice and relaxing day. Everyone was excited to watch a movie from the world's largest IMax screen.

Toy Story 3 is full of poignant observations on growing up, family and mortality, it has captured the special relationship between a child and his toys. There are many loving characters and a memorable moment that eventually nearly break your heart!

At the end of the movie, we had a great time. Hopefully more students would like to join us for the next CSP activities. If anyone has any suggestions for us to organize event in August, please come down to reception and let us know.

Welcome to our new residents!

Unilodge Managemet team and staff would like to say a big warm welcome to all of our new residents, this is your new home, and please feel free to let us know if we can help you at any time during your stay here.

We also have our Student Commitee which help plan out future event's, so if you are interested or have any great ideas, please see Angie in reception, as the more idea's we have the better our CSP events will be for you!

Enjoy your stay at UniLodge!!!

Equipment
You'll need a square 20cm (base measurement) cake pan for this recipe.

Ingredients
·Melted butter, to grease
·150g butter, chopped
·300g good-quality dark cooking chocolate, chopped
·3 eggs
·215g (1 cup) caster sugar
·225g (1 1/2 cups) plain flour
·65g (1/4 cup) sour cream
·1 x 250g pkt cream cheese, at room temperature

Method
1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Brush a square 20cm (base measurement) cake pan with melted butter to lightly grease. Line the base and 2 opposite sides with non-stick baking paper, allowing it to overhang.

2. Combine the butter and chocolate in a saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. Set aside for 5 minutes to cool.

3. Whisk 2 of the eggs in a small bowl. Add whisked eggs and 140g (2/3 cup) of the sugar to the chocolate mixture, and stir to combine. Add the flour and sour cream and stir until well combined.

4. Use an electric beater to beat the cream cheese and remaining sugar in a bowl until smooth. Add the remaining egg and beat until just combined.

5. Spoon chocolate and cream cheese mixtures, alternately, over base of pan. Use a skewer to swirl to create a marble effect. Bake in oven for 30 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Set aside in the pan for 1 hour to cool. Cut into squares to serve.

(We have an electric beater in reception, so please see the desk for hire)

AN OLD COUPLE AT THE DOCTORS

An old couple go to the doctor. The old man goes first to have his physical. When the doctor is done with him, he sends the old man back into the waiting room and calls the old woman in.

The doctor tells her, "Before we proceed with the examination, I would like to talk to you about your husband first."

The old woman says, "Oh, no, it's his heart. I told him to lay off the eggs."

The doctor says, "Well, I asked your husband how he is feeling and he told me he felt great. He said that when he got up to go to the bathroom, he opened the door and God turned the light on for him. When he was done, he would shut the door and God would turn the light out for him."

The old woman responded, "Damn it, he's peeing in the fridge again!"
